SHE-UNET

Empowering Female Migrants Through Participation and Knowledge

SHE-UNET is a European project focused on supporting Ukrainian women who are rebuilding their lives in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Italy. The project helps local organisations grow into stronger and more inclusive Empowerment Hubs; safe spaces where women can connect, feel supported, and thrive.

Through cross-country collaboration, SHE-UNET offers tools, training, and opportunities for organisations to learn from each other. We support leaders and staff in developing inclusive leadership skills, improving team wellbeing, and applying empowerment methods tailored to the specific needs of Ukrainian women.

To achieve this, we will develop a “Capacity Enhancement Framework” to strengthen organisational capacity. Additionally, we will create the “Empowerment Skills Framework”, a comprehensive methodology to train Empowerment Hub staff. These trained staff members will then support Ukrainian women by delivering the empowerment training. Ukrainian migrant women in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Italy will take part in these empowerment trainings. All tools and materials will be translated into the relevant languages and made available online via an e-learning platform to ensure lasting and sustainable impact.

By working closely with local partners, SHE-UNET creates environments where women can build confidence, develop new skills, and take important steps towards active participation in society, including in education and work.

At the same time, the project builds lasting connections between organisations across Europe. Our goal is to empower women, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more inclusive Europe.

SHE-UNET is a collaboration between Netwerkpro (Netherlands), Vallentuna Municipality (Sweden), and Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci ETS (Italy). Co-funded by the European Union.
